Welcome to The Portland Hospital, the only private hospital in the UK dedicated to the healthcare of women and children.

Situated in central London and part of the HCA Healthcare UK group of award-winning hospitals, The Portland specialises in three areas: Paediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynaecology.

We are the UK’s largest private children’s hospital with a 10 bed dedicated intensive care unit, 46 paediatric beds and 155 consultant paediatricians who treat children from newborns up to the age of 18.

As the only fully private maternity hospital in the UK, delivering over 1,600 babies a year, The Portland places great emphasis on providing safe and high quality care for expectant mothers.

Both consultant-led and midwife-led maternity care is available, and our aim is to provide women with all the support and medical attention they need during pregnancy, childbirth and beyond. The Portland Hospital has 5 ensuite delivery rooms and 18 ensuite bedrooms.

Women’s health issues are treated by a team of 40 specialist consultants, supported by nurses, physiotherapists and counsellors, and with an emphasis on privacy and dignity. There are 12 dedicated gynaecology beds.

All of our specialties are supported by state-of-the-art diagnostic facilities including MRI, CT and Interventional Radiology.

The Portland has three operating theatres, one emergency operating theatre on the labour ward and an onsite Adult High Dependency Unit, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Special Care Baby Unit, Transitional Care Unit and Paediatric Intensive Care Unit.
